SYNERGY BROADBAND ANNOUNCES ANN ARBOR DATA CENTER ACQUISITION
Ann Arbor, Mich., November 11, 2010 --Synergy Broadband announced that it has acquired a data center located in the Waterworks Building on State Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Control of the Data Center Facility changed hands earlier this year from a leading Telecommunication Carrier. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Synergy's strong local presence made the company uniquely positioned for this acquisition and to provide the data center's existing clients opportunities for enhanced service offerings. The facility features state-of-the-art technology, including high capacity cooling systems and diesel generators, 24/7/365 security and surveillance, redundant Cisco-powered networks and multiple-carrier fail-over Internet connectivity.
"Synergy's mission is to provide "intelligent buildings" and offer technology solutions for small businesses," said Norman E. Roe, President. "This Data Center is an enhancement for our existing clients and help our fiber extension broadband service for many multi-tenant buildings."
Roe said that the company has expanded its fiber reach with this acquisition to now have more than 1,000 megabytes of capacity for data services in the local area. The company has a unique approach bringing Internet connectivity to areas where larger providers cannot reach using traditional methods. "Ann Arbor needs more data center space as local companies currently have few options. Data Centers provide "safe-site" solutions to combat downtime for critical IT data," he added.
Synergy Broadband was founded in 1998. The company is a regional leader providing data center collocation, comprehensive managed services, web solutions, broadband and phone service. Synergy uses a wide array of modern connectivity solutions to bridge the "Last Mile" gap, enabling an affordable and reliable suite of services.
